DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT DIRECTED AT ANYONE IN PARTICULAR
I have to say that I am appalled at the number of event organizers who now think it is okay to lie about who we are just so they're able to hold an event somewhere. It seems like this is now becoming the trend and I can't stand it. Kudos to those of you who are being honest. I understand the question of "do we lie about who we are to protect the boxes that are in the area? or should we be honest and risk it?" or the whole publicity of the hobby debate. You should always try and ask permission to plant a box no matter where you put it anyways. If more people did this, than boxes wouldn't be put in jeopardy. Has anyone ever taken into consideration the fact that more places might be more receptive to the idea of letterboxing if they knew that the people participating were respectful and honest?
It just really bugs me that people feel they have to lie to cover up what they're doing. The last thing we want to do is become Geocachers.
