Recently I have realized that I just don't care much about letterboxing right now. Don't get me wrong, I still love the hunt, but I have no interest in getting caught up in the craziness that has become letterboxing. I almost feel like I just need to get back to the basics.
I recently introduced my new boyfriend Chris to the hobby by taking him on Giddy's 13 Ways of Looking at a Blackbird (wonderful, by the way). We went out with Nautilus and Culex and we had an awesome time. It was a 2 mile walk through the woods. It was so nice to get out and just enjoy the area instead of obsessing over the finds. Chris found a few of the boxes and saw a deer, too! Even though the sun was going down as we exited the woods, we never once felt like we had to hurry, hurry, hurry. I guess my new lesson is to slow down and enjoy the hike again.

Yes thats a wonderful sound ! We have not slowed down but have a new way to look at the hunt ! Its about the nature of it all and the letterbox is the perk at the end of a wonderful walk.

I too have slowed down big time and am opting out for awhile. Am concentrating on the slower pace of the art community.

Yes, I think I understand. I especially felt burnt out after the soggy rush that was Fright Night 3. Slowing down, getting back to basics, and leaving all the "Crazy"-ness behind is the way to go.
Glad you liked the hike in Robinson.
